Rules for GiantFood Inc.'s
BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes

Ends Sept. 30, 2000. If you apply for a Bonus Card online, it will arrive in about two weeks, but if you get it at the store, you can get it on the spot and start swiping it immediately.

Official rules:

1. To enter: BonusCard members are automatically entered in the BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes each time they make a purchase at any cash register. Entry to BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes may be made without purchase by printing your name, age, address, and phone numbers on a 3" x 5" piece of paper, and mailing the entry to

   Partially completed and/or mechanically reproduced or rubber-stamped entries will be discarded. Enter as often as you like, but each entry must be mailed separately. To qualify for BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes, all entries must be received at Giant corporate offices by September 30, 2000. Giant Food Inc. will not be held responsible for late, lost, stolen or illegible entries.
   
   
2. No purchase necessary to enter or win.
   
   
3. BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes winners will be selected randomly in a drawing held at Giant Food Inc. corporate offices, on or about October 9, 2000. A total of ten (10) Grand Prizes and ten (10) First Prizes will be given away.
   
   The following prizes will be given away for the BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes:
   
   • Grand Prize:
     
     • One (1) 2001 Chevy Blazer, 4-Door, 4-Wheel Drive, Power Locks and Windows, Air Conditioning, Rear Defogger, Dual Air Bags, ABS Brakes, Aluminum Wheels, Tilt Steering & Cruise Control, AM/FM Stereo & CD plus more (list price is approx. $27,000).
   • First Prize:
     
     • Choice of one of the following three (3) vacation packages for two.
       • Trip A -Athens, Greece: includes transportation from Baltimore or Philadelphia to New York, round-trip air transportation from New York to Athens, Greece, six (6) nights hotel accommodations in Athens, breakfast daily, half-day Sightseeing tour of Athens including the Acropolis, full-day tour to Delphi with lunch, full-day 3-island cruise with lunch, transfers, hotel taxes, service charges; departures on Saturdays from November 2000 through March 2001 (value $1,798.00).

Trip, professional driver/guide, first-class hotels for (7) nights, (7) full breakfasts, (6) dinners, tours, deluxe flight bag, ticket wallet and luggage tags, all local taxes, hotel service charges and porterage for (1) suitcase per person (value $2,318.00). U.S. & foreign departure taxes are additional and subject to change. Prizes can not be transferred for cash.
   
   
   
4. Each person eligible may enter as often as you wish.
   
   
5. Employees and their families of Giant Food Inc., or its subsidiaries are not eligible to enter BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes.
   
   
6. The odds of winning are determined by the number of entries received.
   
   
7. Alternate Sweepstakes winners will be chosen at the drawing and will be awarded sweepstakes prizes in place of disqualified winners and/or in the event a sweepstakes prize is not claimed. All sweepstakes prizes will be given away.
   
   
8. Entrants need not to be present at the Sweepstakes drawing to win. The Sweepstakes winners will be notified by phone or certified mail on or about October 9, 2000, and must accept the prize within five (5) days of received notification. Sweepstakes winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a release within ten (10) days of notification. Failure to do so will result in awarding the Sweepstakes prize to an alternate winner.
   
   
9. Prizes are not transferable, endorsable or refundable. Cash equivalent or substitute prizes will not be awarded.
   
   
10. Winners are subject to all federal, state, and local taxes, registration and license fees, including income tax liability.
    
    
11. The BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances and is void where prohibited.
    
    
12. Each entrant or any person performing acts related to entering this BonusCard Kickoff Sweepstakes agrees to release Giant Food Inc. and its subsidiaries and their directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from any liability related in any way to this promotion including liability for personal injury or property damages from the receipt and use of this prize.
    
    
13. The winners agree to release Giant Food Inc. and its subsidiaries to use their name and photo for promotional materials relating to the promotion and must sign a release from liability. All entries become the property of Giant Food Inc.

15. By entering the promotion, each entrant agrees to and accepts these rules.
    
    
16. Winners are limited to one (1) Sweepstakes prize during the promotion which begins September 10, 2000 and ends September 30, 2000.
    
    
17. The information provided by the consumer will be used solely for the purposes of this promotion and will not be sold, rented or relinquished. All information provided by BonusCard records are subject to the printed and agreed upon Privacy Statement issued during BonusCard registration.
